Two More Provincial-Level Green Factories Added to the Power Equipment Sector

On August 21, 2024, the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology published the list of 2024 provincial-level green manufacturing units. Both the Power Equipment Company and the High Voltage Switch Company were named, officially recognized as “Provincial-Level Green Factories” after a rigorous process of enterprise application, city recommendations, and expert evaluations.

In recent years, the Power Equipment Company has actively embraced national directives, adopting the principles of innovation, coordination, green development, openness, and shared growth. The company has focused on energy conservation, material efficiency, clean production, and optimizing performance, along with advancing the circular economy. Alongside its technical innovations and productivity improvements, it has made significant investments in ecological protection and green development, ensuring its sustainable growth. The Switch Company, committed to a green, environmentally friendly, and low-carbon economy, has enhanced its management practices and optimized production processes. It has also developed the “Mixed Gas (SF6N2) Insulated Low-Carbon Eco-Friendly GIS” while exploring new emission reduction strategies and continuously developing low-carbon, eco-friendly switchgear.

The recognition of both companies as green factories marks a significant step forward in their industrial green transformation. This achievement not only enhances the overall image of the Power Equipment Sector but also lays a solid foundation for future green upgrades. The companies are set to benefit from green finance, tax incentives, and better opportunities in state-owned enterprise markets, further boosting the sector’s reputation as a leader in green manufacturing.

Leveraging the success of this recognition, the Power Equipment Company is now preparing to apply for national-level green factory status. The relevant application materials have been completed and submitted to the provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology. The company is committed to building a safe, efficient, green, and low-carbon manufacturing system.

The 2024 provincial-level green manufacturing unit application process began in June as part of a broader effort to strengthen green manufacturing systems and promote industrial green transformation. In line with the Shandong Province Green Manufacturing Unit Gradient Cultivation and Management Provisional Measures, both companies in the Power Equipment Sector took the application process seriously, forming dedicated teams to oversee the application and ensure compliance with all requirements. Government departments also actively supported the application process, providing strong backing at every step.
