Xi’an Jiaotong University Electrical Engineering Training Course Launched

On September 7-8, 2024, We ( Taishan Group Shandong Luneng Taishan Electric Power Equipment Co., Ltd.) hosted an Electrical Engineering Training Course in collaboration with Xi’an Jiaotong University. This training program aims to enhance the professional skills of technical personnel and improve work quality, featuring a total of seven courses with 39 hours of instruction. The curriculum covers various fields related to the transformer industry, including high voltage insulation, finite element simulation, new power systems, renewable energy, and vegetable oil.

This training initiative was specifically organized by the company’s leadership to improve the skills of its technical staff, with all technical personnel from the Technology Development Center and Quality Inspection Center (testing and process) participating. The first phase of the training included two courses: “High Voltage Insulation Technology” and “Finite Element Simulation Technology,” taught by two associate professors and doctoral advisors from Xi’an Jiaotong University’s School of Electrical Engineering.

In the “High Voltage Insulation Technology” course, the instructor combined theoretical concepts with practical applications to explain gas discharge theory, gas breakdown characteristics, and the electrical properties of liquids and solids in detail. This comprehensive approach allowed participants to become familiar with the characteristics of commonly used insulation materials and the development process of discharges. As a result, the trainees will be able to avoid structures and operations that could potentially cause discharges in their future work, greatly enhancing safety and work efficiency.

The “Finite Element Simulation Technology” course was conducted by a young professor from TBEA Group, who has extensive experience in transformer simulation analysis. He provided a thorough introduction to the principles, operations, and precautions for conducting electromagnetic and thermal simulation analysis of transformers using COMSOL software. After the lecture, the instructor offered on-site guidance for questions raised by participants related to simulation verification, ensuring that every trainee could fully grasp the course content.

Notably, the entire teaching process of the training course was recorded on video, allowing participants to revisit the lectures and reinforce their understanding of the material.

The launch of the Xi’an Jiaotong University Electrical Engineering Training Course marks the first step in a deep collaborative relationship between the company’s leadership and Xi’an Jiaotong University. Future plans include further development of training bases and collaborative technology projects. The complementary strengths and mutual benefits of this partnership will enhance the company’s technical capabilities and the overall quality of its employees. This not only ensures that the company keeps pace with advancements in the electric power industry but also has a profound impact on its long-term development.
